MIDLAND — The South Plains College women's basketball team picked up its second win in as many days Friday, topping Panola College 61-58 at the Chaparral Center at the Midland College Classic.

The Lady Texans will be back on the hardwood on Saturday when they square off with No. 9 Trinity Valley at 2 p.m. The contest will stream live at spctexans.com.

Jennifer Silva scored a game-high 16 points for South Plains, connecting on six of 10 shots from the floor and also hauled in five boards. Maya Woodson finished with 12 points and seven rebounds as the Lady Texans shot 36.5 percent from the field in the contest.

Hannah Young led Panola with 14 points over 19 minutes, as the Lady Ponies shot 36.8 percent from the floor and were five of 10 from distance.
