FORMER PANOLA PONY MATT JUENGEL INVITED TO MIAMI MARLINS SPRING TRAINING CAMP

CARTHAGE - Matt Juengel, a former Panola Pony gets invited to spring training for the first time as a non-roster invite.  

Juengel played one season at Panola before transferring Texas A&M University in 2010.  As a player at Panola, Juengel was a key member of the 2009 team that had a season record of 39-15 and won a co-conference championship.  He had a .404 batting average while slugging 14 doubles, 16 homeruns, and plating 57 runs batted in.  For his efforts that season Juengel earned a First Team NJCAA All-American award.  

After transferring to Texas A&M University he was drafted as an infielder in the 24th round of the 2012 draft.  Juengel has spent the last five years climbing the ladder in the minor leagues.  In 2016 as member of Triple-A New Orleans Juengel hit a .263 batting average with 25 doubles and 11 homeruns.
