#10-Panola College Are 2017 Conference Champions

Panola College beats Navarro two of three to win series and clinch the 2017 Region IV East Zone Champions.  After losing game one Thursday in Corsicana the Ponies returned home to Carthage on Saturday and won two straight to take the series in dramatic fashion.  With the wins Panola is now 43-11 on the season and finishes conference at 21-9.  Panola will now travel to Grand Prairie Texas as a #1 seed in the Region-IV Tournament.  Panola will host Blinn College in game three of the tournament at 5pm.

 

Panola College Drops Game One To Navarro College

Panola had trouble keeping up with Navarro in a 9-3 loss on Thursday.

Navarro captured the lead in the first inning.

In the top of the third inning, Panola tied things up at one. Michael Lawson singled on the first pitch of the at bat in the third inning, scoring one run.

Navarro took the lead for good with three runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Walker homered off of Kyle Rogers, driving in three runs.

Navarro scored three runs in the eighth inning. The big inning for Navarro came thanks to a double by Williams and a double by Salazar.

Kyle Rogers took the loss for Panola. He went four and a third innings, surrendering four runs, five hits, striking out four, and walking one.

Panola collected ten hits. Logan Bailey, Colby Price, Andrew Pace, and Lawson each collected multiple hits for Panola

 
 

Panola Best Navarro In Game Two

Panola jumped out to an early lead over Navarro and took home an 8-3 victory on Saturday. Panola scored on a single by Michael Lawson in the first inning and a home run by Andrew Pace in the second inning.

Panola scored three runs in the sixth inning. Panola’s big inning was driven by a single by Julian Flores and a double by Colby Price.

Logan Bailey earned the win for Panola. He went six innings, giving up one run, five hits, and striking out four.

Panola had nine hits in the game. Austin Blakeley and Andrew Pace each collected multiple hits for Panola. Blakeley led Panola with three hits in three at bats.

Panola College Spring 2017 didn't commit a single error in the field. Christian Boulware had the most chances in the field with five.

 
 

Panola Grabs Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Navarro

Panola took the lead late and defeated Navarro 9-5 on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Panola batting in the bottom of the seventh when Austin Blakeley hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.

Navarro captured the lead in the second inning. With two outs in the second inning Menchuck drove in one run when he doubled.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, and Navarro leading 5-0 Panola scored five runs. The big inning was thanks to a groundout by Michael Lawson, a single by Christian Boulware, and a home run by Bailey.

Miles Dunn earned the win for Panola. He tossed four and two-thirds innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, striking out three, and walking zero.

Taylor Tomlin started the game for Panola. He pitched three and a third innings, giving up five runs, nine hits, and striking out four.

Home runs for Panola came when Austin De Leon homered in the seventh inning and Bailey homered in the fifth inning.

Panola collected 13 hits. Colby Price, Boulware, De Leon, and Lawson each collected multiple hits for Panola.

Price went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Panola in hits. Panola didn't commit a single error in the field. Bailey had the most chances in the field with nine.
