Panola College swept Paris Junior College last weekend.  Panola won game one 9-7, game two 8-5 and game three 14-9.   With the wins Panola extends their regular season record to 40-10 and 19-8 in conference play.  Panola travels to Navarro College on Thursday May 5th to face off against the Bulldogs in a winner take all series for first place in Region-14 East Zone Conference.  Game time for Thursday is set for 3pm.  Panola will be back at home on Saturday May 6th for a double header versus Navarro.  Game times are set for 2pm and 4pm.

 


Panola College Best Paris JC In 9-7 Victory

Panola and Paris traded the lead back-and-forth on Thursday, but eventually Panola prevailed 9-7. Panola took the lead for good in the tenth inning. The game was tied at seven with Panola batting in the top of the tenth when Michael Lawson singled off of Myers, driving in one run.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Panola collected 14 hits and Paris nine

Paris captured the lead in the first inning. Jeffries drove in one when he singled in the first inning.

Panola scored three runs in the third inning. Panola scored on a groundout by Duke Ellis, a single by Michael Lawson, and a single by Christian Boulware.

Paris scored three runs in the ninth inning. The big inning for Paris came thanks to a single by Anderson and a throwing error that let Paris back in the game.

Miles Dunn earned the win for Panola. He tossed two innings, surrendering three runs, three hits, and walking zero.

Cayne Ueckert started the game for Panola. He threw four innings, surrendering three runs, four hits, striking out three, and walking one.

Boulware, Chandler Morris, Lawson, and Austin Blakeley each collected multiple hits for Panola . Lawson and Ellis each drove in two runs to lead Panola.

 

4-Hit Day For Price Leads Panola College Past Paris JC

Colby Price gave Paris fits, as he bagged four hits in Panola’s 8-5 victory on Sunday. Price singled in the first, singled in the third, hit a grand slam in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

Paris scored four runs in the second inning, but Panola still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Paris came thanks to a double by Kinkade, a groundout by Beavlaurier, and a single by Mendoza.

Panola took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Colby Price hit a grand slam off of Ceaney, driving in four runs.

Logan Bailey earned the win for Panola. He pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs, eight hits, striking out six, and walking one.

Colton Brasher threw one inning, as two relievers helped Panola finish off the victory. Brasher recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Panola.

Home runs for Panola came when Price homered in the fourth inning, Bailey homered in the third inning, and Austin Blakeley homered in the sixth inning.

Panola collected 11 hits. Price, Blakeley, and Christian Boulware each collected multiple hits for Panola.

 

The Price Was Right As Colby Price Collects 4 More Hits to Propel Panola College Past Paris JC

Colby Price did it again in game two of the double header on Sunday as he collected 4 more hits in Panola’s 14-9 victory. Price singled in the first, doubled in the fifth, singled in the fifth, and homered in the seventh.

Panola captured the lead in the first inning. Logan Bailey grounded out, scoring one run.

Panola took the lead for good with seven runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Christian Boulware singled, driving in one run, Chandler Morris doubled, driving in two runs, Andrew Pace singled, driving in two runs, and Colby Price singled, driving in two runs.

Paris scored three runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Paris came thanks to a triple by Paris, a double by Solomon, and a double by Kinkade.

Taylor Tomlin earned the win for Panola. He went six innings, giving up five runs, eight hits, striking out eight, and walking zero.

Miles Dunn  threw one inning, as three relievers helped Panola finish off the victory.

Home runs for Panola came when Duke Ellis homered in the seventh inning, Chandler Morris homered in the sixth inning, Colby Price homered in the seventh inning, and Logan Berlof homered in the fourth inning.

Price, Morris, Boulware, Berlof, and Michael Lawson each collected multiple hits for Panola. Price, Ellis, and Morris each drove in three runs to lead Panola.
