Beeville, Texas - The Panola College men's basketball team defeated Coastal Bend College here Saturday night, 91-70. With the victory the Ponies raise their record to 9-4 and 2-1 in Region 14 play. "Other than about a 3 minute span in the first half we played a solid ball game." Head Coach Grant McMillan mentioned. "It was a great way to end our semester and head into our holiday break." He added.

A seesaw battle to start the game saw Coastal Bend take an 8-7 lead with just under 14:00 minutes remaining in the first half. Panola closed the half on a 30-12 run to take a 37-20 halftime lead. The 20 first half points was Coastal Bend?s lowest output of the season. A faster paced second half saw much of the same as Panola heated up from the three point line to take the 21 points victory.

Three different Ponies scored in double figures. KJ Byers came off the bench and netted 14 points. Bryson Lockley and Eric McGill both tallied 12 points, respectively. Panola shot 10-19 from the three point line and chased down a season high 59 rebounds.

Panola will next be in action on Wednesday, January 4th when they take on ETBU JV. Tip-off is set for 6:00 PM in Arthur Johnson Gymnasium on the campus of Panola College.
