The Panola College Rodeo Team begins ots' 12th season this year with a whole lot of optimism and hope as theu prepare for the road to the College National Final in Casper Wyoming in June. Panola has a qualified for the CNF 8 out of the 12 years, with one National Championship in 2007 by Tildon Hooper in bareback.  

Panola College was well represented at the College National Finals this year. Current student Fulton Rutland of Stilwell, Oklahoma after sitting in the number one spot most of the week, ended up third in the Nation in bullriding. Panola College's alumnus Wyatt Denny, took home the main prize. Denny was sitting first most of the year and won second in the first round, second in the second round and won the third round and went into the finals with a huge lead on the rest of the field, and came home with the National Championship. 

Panola had three ex-teammates and alumnus that participated in the CNFR beside Fulton and Wyatt. They were Randy Meyers bullrider for Texas A&M Commerce, Gannon Ivey bullrider for Sam Houston State, and Cole Frey team roper from McNeese State University. 

Coach Jeff Collins is in his third year as the Rodeo Coach at Panola. He began his rodeo career in high school competing in the bareback riding and bullriding in the state of Missouri. He graduated and joined the rodeo team at Ft. Scott Community College in Ft. SDcott, KS. He rodeoed professionally from 1993-2004. He was a 6 time NFR qualifier and won the World Championship in 2000. in Bareback. Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl, in 1996and they have a daughter, Payton who is now a freshman at Panola College and a member of the Rodeo Team competing in breakaway & goat tying.
