Adashchyk Scores 50 in Overtime Thriller

The Fillies season has come to an end after a heartbreaking loss in District 14 tournament play Wednesday; losing in overtime 88-91 to the #4 Kilgore Lady Rangers in Shreveport. Maryia Adashchyk scored a career high and game high 50 points in the contest. 

The Fillies controlled most of the game, leading by as much as 12 during the contest. With 3:33 left, the Lady Rangers tied the contest at 72 all. Moments later, Adashchyk would score the bucket and get fouled, giving the Fillies a three-point lead. After a split of free throws by the Lady Rangers, the Fillies got another old fashion three-point opportunity; this time by Falkowska. She would miss the free throw, making the Fillie lead four with 2:02 left in regulation. Kilgore would then respond with a three-pointer, cutting the Panola lead to one. 

After a timeout, Adashchyk would score her 46thpoint of the contest with an isolation drive to the bucket, giving Panola a three-point lead with 23.1 ticks of the clock left. Kilgore would respond with a corner three pointer, tying the contest at 79 a piece. Adashchyk would have a chance at the game winner for the Fillies but was unable to get the bucket to go. Kilgore would have a chance of their own to end the game in regulation but failed. 

The Fillies started overtime on a 4-0 run with buckets from Adashckyk and Kellymar Ramirez. But the Lady Rangers would take the lead behind an And-1 conversion and a three pointer late in overtime. Adayshchk would score her 49thand 50thpoint on the FT line with 17.2 ticks of a second left. The Fillies would cut it to two with 5.3 seconds left but time had simply run out. 

In her final game as a Fillie, Adashchyk would lead all scorers with 50 points. She was 20-31 from the floor, 3-4 from three and a perfect 7-7 from the floor. She also snagged 13 rebounds. Behind her in scoring was Alicja Falkowska with 12. 

The Fillies finish the 2018-19 season with a record of 15-14 (11-7 in conference).
