Fillies Clinch Region XIV Tournament Bid
With two critical wins this week over Navarro and Trinity Valley, the Panola College Fillies earned a birth in the 2017 Region XIV Tournament.

In a mid-week hostile road match, Panola swept Navarro (25-19, 25-21, 25-23). Sophomore Kaitlyn Adams led offensively with 17 kills on a blistering .483 hitting percentage, while freshman Audrey Slaten followed with 11 kills and 0 errors. Sophomore Cayman Sutton dished out 37 assists and added 3 block assists. At the net, freshman Daphinie Correa assisted on 5 blocks, with Adams and Barbara Sabino each adding 3. Hannah Ramirez and Slaten led the floor defense with 10 digs each, along with Camie Copeland adding 8 of her own.

Panola returned home this weekend to take down Trinity Valley in 4 sets (20-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-15). Once again Adams led the offense by pounding out 13 kills, Sabino added 9, Correa 8, and Jasmine Sanchez chipped in 5 key kills on 7 swings. Sutton ran the offense racking up 39 assists along with 7 digs. Hannah Ramirez anchored the floor with 21 digs, Rebecca Rabius picked up 9, with Jaqueline da Silva and Camie Copeland each adding 8. Correa was once again a force at the net assisting on 5 blocks, with Adams and Sabino adding 4 apiece. 

With the win, the Fillies move to 21-4 overall and will take on TJC Wednesday in Arthur Johnson Gym at 7pm for a match that will determine the North zone conference championship.
