Panola was unable to extend their winning streak to 9, instead falling at home 64-62 to Kilgore. After a back and forth first half, the Ponies were able to take a 28-23 lead into the locker room at half. Panola started off hot in the second half, extending their lead to 40-30. But Kilgore came right back. With the score tied 62 all, Kilgore got the ball inside and got a dunk to put them up two with 45 seconds to play. Panola would turn the ball over on the ensuing possession. Kilgore then missed two free throws to give the Ponies one last shot. Lenell Henry's 6 footer bounced off the rim as time expired. The Ponies were led by Tylan Dean and Tariq Simmons who both had 11 points. Jeff Boyd added 10.

The loss drops the Ponies to 16-4 (6-2 Region XIV). They return to action Wednesday at Trinity Valley.

Earlier in the Week, Panola was in another barn burner on Wednesday night escaping with a 66-64 victory at Paris. The win pushes the Ponies to 16-3, 6-1 in Region XIV play. After a first half that saw the Ponies jump out to an 8-0 lead, Paris came right back, and was able to tie it up at 34 going into halftime. Panola again pushed ahead, this time by double digits at 50-39. Paris again would come back and take their first lead of the game at 62-61 with 2:30 left on the clock. Panola bounced back and took the lead back. Up 66-64 with 20 seconds left, Paris had the ball and decided to go for the win at home. Their 3 point attempt with 3 seconds left bounced off the back of the rim. Kamari Brown skied for the game clinching rebound. Jeff Boyd led the way for Panola with 20 points. Lenell Henry added 10.
