Competitive play in the North Zone of Region XIV has really picked up. After beating Trinity Valley at Arthur Johnson Gymnasium, the Ponies traveled to Bossier City and picked up an OT win vs Bossier Parish CC 93-85. Jermaine Drewey led the way with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Kelyn Pennie pitched in 22 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. They were joined in double figures by: Kamari Brown with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Stanton Rose with 10 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds.
Panola dropped their next two games vs Tyler (2/1/20) and at Navarro (2/5/20), but they were back to their winning ways as they hosted Kilgore and earned the 89-74 victory on Saturday February 8th. Jermaine Drewey led the way again with 20 points. Kelyn Pennie contributed 18 points. Joining them in double figures was Christopher Coley and Jerrel Kelly with 11 points, and Dominique Jackson with 10 points. Stanton Rose dished out 13 assists and grabbed 8 rebounds.
The Ponies will be back in action as they travel to Paris on Wednesday February 12th, tip is set for 7pm. On Saturday the 15th, the men will travel to Athens, TX to take on the Cardinals of Trinity Valley, tip is set for 4pm.
