The Panola Fillies put together a good team effort as they remain undefeated at home.
The Fillies allowed its defense to lead to a victory. The Fillies began the game down 5-0 start from jump. After they settled in the Fillies would go on an 11-5 run and take the lead. This would jumpstart a defensive stance that resulted in steals that lead to a 36-27 half time lead.
The Cardinals would not lay down easily. The Fillies would see 11 point lead dwindle to 3. A strong defensive stance, forcing 6 turnovers and empty possessions, would allow Panola to head in to the last period with a 56-40 lead.
Despite being outscored 23 -14 the fourth quarter, the Fillies would be able to hold on to the lead and win the game. Panola was led by Patience Okpe (21), Maryia Adashchyk (13), and Ekaterina Karchevskaya (10).
The Fillies return to action Saturday January 13th at 2 pm in Tyler.
