Chelsea Hudson joins the Panola staff after a successful stint with Pearl Cohn High School in Nashville, Tennessee. Hudson helped lead the Lady Firebirds to a 25-5 record on the year while clinching a TSSAA Class AA State appearance for only the second time in school history. Hudson earned District 10-AA Assistant Coach of the Year after coaching the Lady Firebirds to TSSAA Class AA State runner up, Region 5-AA Runner Up, District 10-AA Tournament Champions, and District 10-AA Regular Season Champions. Chelsea coached three TSSAA Class AA First team All State Selections, the District 10-AA Regular season MVP, three District 10-AA First team selections, and the Dstrict 10-AA Tournament MVP.  Three of the Lady Firebirds 2017 seniors have went on to play collegiate basketball.

Hudson played her collegiate career at Tennesses State University (TSU). She was a (2X )captain while leading the team in scoring and rebouding for two consecutive years. As a senior Hudson led TSU to an Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Championship and NCAA tournament playoff appearance for only the second time in program history. Hudson's accolades include All OVC Tournament selection, (2X) 2nd team All OVC, BoxtoRow All American Honors, and BoxtoRow National Player of the Week (2X). Hudson was also nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. She ranks 10th among TSU's all-time leading scorers. She earned TSU's Female Athelete of the Year and Acadmeic Athlete of the Year her senior year, while obtaining the OVC Commisioner's Award for a 4.0 GPA amongst athletes.

Chelsea earned her Master's Degree in Education and Bachelor's of Health Science while playing for TSU.

Hudson was a West Texas standout athlete from Midland, TX. She led Midland High to a 104-28 overall record as a four year starter and letter winner. She ranks 3rd all time in career points, 1st in rebounds, and 1st in free throws made. Hudson obtianed four consecutive All District and Academic All District selections. She earned superlative awards in Newcomer of the Year and two-time District Player of the Year. Hudson ws selected First Team 5A All Region and All State her senior year as well as participating in  the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All Star game. Hudson was also a four year track letter winner.
