Little Rock Inks Jayla Brooks to National Letter of Intent

Little Rock head women's basketball coach Joe Foley announced that the Trojans have signed Jayla Brooks to a National Letter of Intent. Brooks will join Little Rock's Team for the 2022-2023 season. 

Brooks heads to the capital city after spending last season at Panola College where she averaged 9.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals over her 27 games played. She dished out 90. assist on the year as she started in 23 of 27 games, leading Panola to a 21-8 record of the year. 

"Jayla is a true point guard that can run the team and score inside with penetration and outside on the perimeter," Foley siad. "She is a great defender and plays with passion and intesity. We are looking forward to Jayla coming to Little Rock." 

Brooks started her collegiate career at Southern Methodist University prior to coming to Panola College. 

Panola College head coach Alex Furr has had three former players go on to sign with the Trojans. 

"Jayla made a smart decision coming to Panola. She got a lot stronger on and off the floor in her short time here. She was able to gain a lot of experience which led to immense confidence.  She has everything it takes to compete at the NCAA Division I level." Furr said. "She has positively impacted our program and will be missed. We wish her the best!"
