The Panola College volleyball team defeats nationally ranked #12 Tyler Junior College in three straight sets, (25-11, 25-16, 25-16). The Fillies improve to 20-3 overall and 9-2 in conference. 

Tamara Chavez led the Fillies offense with nine kills with a hitting efficiency of .333. Chavez added five digs, three aces, and two blocks. Izabely Benjamin followed Chavez by recording eight kills with a hitting efficiency of .533. Benjamin added 10 digs, two blocks, and one ace. Cassidy Cole, Luisa Hoffman, and Andressa Soares all contributed six kills each on the night to push the Fillies offense past the Lady Apaches. Cole finished the night with a hitting efficiency of .308 while contributing two digs and one block. Hoffman hit a .417 while also recording seven digs, six blocks, and two assists. Soares added eight digs, three aces, and one block. 

Vitoria Mattos ran the Fillies offense and recorded a double-double on the night with 29 assists and 12 digs. Erin Perez led the Fillies defense tallying up 24 digs on the three-set match in a great team effort to hold off the Lady Apaches. 

The Fillies return to action at home Tuesday, October 12th against Lee College at 6pm. The first 50 fans will receive free hot dogs and popcorn!
