4 Freshman Ponies Moving On To The Next Level

The 2021 Ponies were one of the youngest teams in all of the NJCAA this past season. Despite that, Panola was ranked in the top 25 in the Nation for the large majority of the season.  This success did not go unnoticed and 4 of the Pony Freshmen were able to move on to the next level after just one year wearing the Green and Gold.

 
All-American Freshman Guard Cody Deen signed with Division 1 Troy University.  The Ponies leading scorer finished the year averaging 20.0 Points Per Game, 4.9 Assists Per Game, shot 41.6% from 3PFG and 86% from the charity stripe.
 
All-Region Freshman Forward Sherman Brashear signed with Division 1 Western Kentucky University. The 6'5 Swingman finished his freshman campaign averaged 11 Points and 6.2 Rebounds per game.
 
Freshman Center Stephen Faramade signed with Division 1 Texas A&M Corpus Christi.  The 6'8 big man finished the year averaging 4.4 Points and 5.6 Rebounds per contest, in addition to shooting 69% from the field.
 
Redshirt Freshman Guard Ja'Hiem Handy signed with Division 2 Texas A&M International.  He finished the year averaging 7.4 Points, 3.6 Rebounds, and 3.3 Assists per game.
