Panola College Rodeo Team Brings Home Another National Championship

The Panola College Men's Rodeo Team's have won 4 National Championships in the last three years under Coach Jeff Collins, 1 Team National Championship in 2019, Bullriding - 2019, Tie Down Calf Roping in 2021 and 2022.  Coach Collins' success started in rodeo long before he arrived at Panola when he won the PRCA World Bareback Championship in 2000.  

 
In his 7 years as Panola's Coach, he has instilled the championship mentality in each of his teams.  This year, the Panola Men's Team, for the third year in a row, brought home a National Championship.  
 
Kincade Henry, a sophomore from Mt. Pleasant, won the NIRA Tiedown National Championship and his horse took home the Horse of the Year Crown.  
 
The Men's Team finished the CNFR as the 8th place team in the Nation behind 1.  Tarleton State, 2. McNeese State, 3. Missouri Valley, 4. Casper College, 5. Three Rivers College, 6. Western Texas College, 7. Sam Houston State University, 8. Panola College, 9. Central Arizona College, 10 University of Tennessee - Martin.  
 
Other Panola results included Kolt Dement, a sophomore from Rusk, TX finished 6th in the Bareback and Gauge McBride, a sophomore from Nebraska finished 8th in Bareback.  Guage also finished 25th in Saddle Bronc.  Returning Tie Down National Champion, Macon Murphy, of Keatchie, LA, finished 12th for Panola.  In Team Roping, Riley Rieken, of Arp TX, and his partner Devon Johnson of Trinity Valley CC
finished 14th.  Steer Wrestler, Garrett Curry, a freshman from Richmond, TX finished 38th.
