Ponies Win 4th in a Row

The Ponies returned home to take on Bossier Parrish Community College (BPCC). After taking the finale of the Navarro series and a mid-week match with UT-Tyler, the Ponies add 2 more wins by taking the first two games of the final conference series.

Game 1

The Cavaliers had little to no chance with Jarret Whorff on the mound in this contest. He was masterful giving up on only 4 hits, no runs, no walks, and struck out 2 in a 6inning complete game. While Whorff was dominating on the mound, the offense was showing no mercy at the plate. Christian Boulware led the way with 3 hits. Jordan Wiley and Boulware decided to have some fun and both crushed long balls for homeruns. The Ponies controlled the game the entire time and won in a shortened run rule of a score 10-0.

Game 2

The second game of the double dip was a little closer. BPCC jumped out to an early lead, but the Ponies were having none of that. Austin De Leon recorded 5 hits (3 doubles, 1 triple), Boulware added 3 more hits (2 homeruns, 1 triple), and Mike Lawson also had 3 hits (double, triple, homerun). Both De Leon and Lawson were 1 hit away from the coveted cycle. Boulware's homerun in the bottom of the 6th brings him to a total of 19 on the year. Lawson's homerun in the bottom of the 8th was a record breaker. The Ponies have now hit 74 homeruns on the year breaking the previous record of 73 set back in 1988. On the mound Gannon Reiswig, Jarred Zumwalt, and Nick Barnes all had solid outings to hold off the Cavaliers. Ponies take game 2 by a score of 12-8.
