After a fast start to the season, the Panola Men's Basketball Team started conference play on December 1st vs previously ranked Lamar State Port Arthur. The Ponies came away with the 97-87 victory.  5 players were in double figures led by Jacobi Lewis with 19 points and 5 assists, which included an 8-0 run by himself with 3:29 left in the game when Panola was down by 5.  Troy Hupstead had a big game with 18 points and 9 rebounds.  Isaac Jackson scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. William Mfum added 14 points and 5 rebounds and Rodney Johnson had 11 points and 8 rebounds.  Olaverr Camacho led the way on the glass grabbing 13 rebounds and scoring 8 points.
 
Panola lost their next two games vs Lee College and Jacksonville College but bounced back well vs Blinn to close out the semester. 
 
The Ponies beat Blinn College 73-52 on Saturday December 11.  It was a great defensive effort holding Blinn to only 31% from the floor.  The Ponies were led by Isaac Jackson with 24 points.  Bennie Amos III scored 8 points, all in the second half. David Jones scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.  Rodney Johnson Jr. scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Olaverr Camacho scored 6 points and posted another double digit rebound game with 10 boards.  Troy Hupstead scored 6 points and snagged 6 rebounds.  Jacobi Lewis led with 10 assists and scored 5 points and had 5 rebounds.
 
The Ponies finish the semester at 10-3 (2-2) and will take some time off. The next game will be vs the top 10 ranked College of Southern Idaho at Arthur Johnson Gymnasium on Wednesday December 29 at 2PM.
