Panola's Taylor Gooch Wins at Trinity Valley Rodeo

Panola College's Taylor Gooch, of Hemphil, won the Goat Tying this weekend at the first rodeo of the spring season in Athens TX at the Trinity Valley Community College Rodeo.  She went into the finals seated sixth with a 7.9 run on Friday, then topped it all off with a 6.5 sec. run to win the finals on Saturday night.  The win will put Taylor in the top 5 for the Southern Region as she hopes to get into the top 3 for the race for the College National Finals is now down to just 4 more rodeos.

Logan Cook, of Alto, TX, continues to rack up points for the Men's Team as he placed second in the Saddle Bronc this weekend.  With this finish Logan will move up to second place in the Southern Region for the year as he continues to maintain his qualifying spot for the College National Finals. 
Travis Chapman, of Woodville, TX, and Caleb Cogbill, of Orange, TX, both placed 5th to contribute to the Men's team in Bareback and Steer Wrestling.  Cogbill also placed 6th in the saddle bronc to give him the All Around Men's Title for the TVCC Rodeo.  Chapman went into the rodeo ranked 5th and dropped one spot to 6th in the Southern Region after the weekend.  
The Rodeo Team will be back in action on on Feb. 24-25 at the Robstown Expo Center for the Texas A&M-Kingsville Rodeo.
