The Panola Men's Rodeo jumped back on top of the Southern Region as they won the McNeese State University Rodeo this past weekend. The Women's Teams finished second at McNeese and jumped to 4th in th overall standings in the Southern Region.
Jaques Trahan, a sophomore from Hackberry, LA won the Men's All Around as he and his partner, Brady Blanchard of Beaumont won the Team Roping and Jaques took second in the Calf Roping.
Mathew Weeks of Keatchie, LA won the steerwrestling for Panola, and other teammates that added to the victory for Panola included: Isaac Ingram finishing 2nd in the Bareback, Macon Murphy and team roping partner was 6th, Kolt Dement took 6th in the bareback, Kegan Kmita was 7th in the bareback, and Miguel Pena finished 8th in the saddle bronc.
The Women's team was led by Annamarie Pierce from Clouterville, LA and Josey Murhpy of Keatchie, LA. Annamarie won 2nd in the breakaway roping and Josey placed in the 6th in the barrels and breakaway roping.
The Rodeo Team will be back in action November 10-12 at the Sam Houston State University Rodeo.
