Panola Fillies Season Recap

The 2017-2018 is one to remember for the Fillies of Panola College. The Fillies finished the season 25-7 overall and 16-4 in conference. The Fillies secured their first Regular Season Conference Title for the first time in 40 years. Panola also punched a ticket to Lubbock and the NJCAA National Tournament first time in 13 years.

The Fillies averaged 76.8 points per game. The team shot 41.97% from the floor, 30.3% from beyond the arc, and 75.5% from the charity stripe which was third highest in the nation. The team grabbed 36.4 board a game. The Fillies remained undefeated at home going 13-0 on the season. Away the Fillies were 7-4, and neutral the fillies finished 5-3.

Three Fillies, Daria Eremeeva, Masha Adashchyk, & Patience Okpe, averaged double digit scoring on the year. Stefany Lourenco averaged 3 steals per game. Okpe also dished out a team best of 4 assist per game. Adashchyk led the team in shooting beyond the arc at 36.5%.  Eremeeva led the team in rebounding grabbing 7 a game. Jalynn Estrada led the team in free throw percentage with 94%.

Head Coach Eddie Kite was named Region XIV Coach of the year after leading the Fillies to a spectacular year. Sophomore Daria Eremeeva and Patience Okpe were named to the Region XIV All Region Team while Freshman Masha Adashchyk received Honorable Mention. Okpe was also named to the Region XIV All-Tournament Team.

Three Fillies have signed their National Letter of Intent to play at the next level, while three continue to weigh their options and take their visits ( Jaye Cage to The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, Ekaterina Karchevskya to University of Central Arkansas, Daria Eremeeva to University of North Florida). Five Fillies will walk the stage in May with their Associates Degree.
