This week the Fillies faced off against the Lady Roadrunners of Angelina in Lufkin. The Lady Roadrunners are fast paced, good rebounding, and very athletic. The teams entered the match up tied for 4th place in conference. Opening tip was controlled by the Lady Roadrunners. The first quarter was fairly even in scoring with each team controlling the lead. The first quarter of play ended with a score of 11-9 in favor of the Lady Roadrunners. The second quarter was a tough one for the Fillies. Turnovers from the Fillies lead to points for the Lady Roadrunners. Scoring just 7 points it left the Fillies down 30-16 going into halftime. The second half of play was better offensively for the Fillies finding some points to put on the board, but in the third quarter momentum was still in favor of the Lady Roadrunners putting up 19 points to the FIllies 11, closing the third quarter of play with a score of 49-27. A shift happened in the fourth quarter. Defensive pressure was scaled up, and the Fillies were able to get some easy baskets and force some turnovers for the Lady Roadrunners. Although the Fillies won the fourth quarter, they just ran out of time. The final from Lufkin was 66-50. 

The Fillies have a bye on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Action resumes Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at home against Trinity Valley.
