Week 1 Recap: 

In the opening week of the 2023-2024 season, Panola College's women's basketball team delivered impressive performances, securing two victories and moving to 2-0 on the season. 

Game 1: Panola College vs. Western Gulf

Defeated Western Gulf with a final score of 68-40.

Game Highlights:

  • Awa Fane who led the team with 18 points and 9 rebounds.

  • Ja'nae Southall contributed 11 points and 5 assists.

  • Nakaylyn Wells made her presence felt with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Game 2: Panola College vs. Dallas College Mountain View

Defeated Dallas Mountain View 78-49.

Game Highlights:

  • Awa Fane led in scoring with an impressive 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.

  • Taja Stephens added 15 points and 6 rebounds to the team's effort.

  • Hannah Young also reached double figures with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

  • Meilin Guo pulled down a game high 14 rebounds.

  • Nakaylyn Wells dished out 8 assists.

The Fillies return to action at the Midland College WNIT-Classic, where they face Midland College, Odessa College, and South Plains.
