The Panola Rodeo Team Holds on to the Top Spot in the Southern Region!
The Panola Men’s Rodeo Team held on to the top spot in the Southern Region with a third place finish on March 12th and 13th at the Texas A & M University Rodeo. Kolt Dement took home the bareback championship once again, as he stretches his lead in the region, and Jadyn Gould won the breakaway roping on the women’s side.
In the team roping, Macon Murphy and his teammate won 2nd and added to the Panola points. Chase Runfola won 2nd in the bullriding, and Kaul Runfola won 4th in the saddle bronc. Others scoring points included: Team ropers Bradford Fisher and Trace Clark took 4th, Gauge McBride a 5th place finish in the bareback, Isaac Ingram – 6th bareback, Sam Wigans 6th bareback, and Kincaide Henry 5th in tiedown roping.
Abbie Muckleroy split 5/6th in the average and placed 4th in the short go in the Girls Barrel Racing to help lead the girls team to a 6th place finish.
With just three rodeos remaining the race for the National Finals is getting close. Panola’s Men’s team is still in the lead in the team standings with the top two team qualifying:

The top three in each event qualify for the the CNFR. Kolt Dement and Kincaid Henry are winning the region in bareback and tie down roping for Panola. Those that are in the top three currently are: Michael Womack – 2nd Saddlebronc, Seth Rustin – 3rd bullriding, and Macon Murphy – 3rd in tiedown roping. Several others are just on the outside hoping to shine at the next three rodeos to qualify for the CNFR: Kaul Runfola – 5th saddlebronc, Gauge McBride – 5th bareback, Chase Runfola 6th bullriding, Thomas Wallace – 6th tiedown roping, Jadyn Gould 4th in breakaway roping and Josey Murphy – 8th in breakaway roping.
The Panola Rodeo Team will travel this weekend to Hillsboro, TX to the Hill College Rodeo on Friday and Saturday.
