Panola College traveled to Shreveport Louisiana on Tuesday to face off Kellogg Community College from Michigan. Panola won both games, 15-9 in game one, and 4-3 in game two. With the wins Panola now extends their winning streak to 9 in a row and season record of 15-2. Panola will be back in Carthage on Thursday as they host Bossier Parish Community College in the first round of conference competition. Game time is set for 2pm at Jim Reeves Memorial Field.
Four RBI Day For Boulware Leads Panola College Past Kellogg C.C.
Panola College defeated Kellogg Community College 15-9 in game one of the double header in Shreveport Louisiana thanks in part to Christian Boulware, who drove in four runners.
An early lead helped propel Panola to victory. Panola scored on a stolen base by Logan Bailey in the first inning, a single by Chandler Morris in the first inning, a walk by Duke Ellis in the first inning, a home run by Colby Price in the second inning, and a home run by Christian Boulware in the second inning.
Panola scored four runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to another home run by Boulware and a single by Andrew Pace.
Kellogg C.C. scored seven runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Kellogg C.C. came thanks to a walk by Nate, a single by Briggs, an error, and a groundout by Carpenter.
Blaine Tomlin earned the win for Panola. He went one inning, giving up two runs, two hits, striking out one, and walking one.
Kyle Rogers started the game for Panola. He pitched three innings, allowing zero runs, four hits, striking out two, and walking zero.
Home runs for Panola came when Price homered in the second inning and Boulware homered in the second and fourth innings.
Panola collected 12 hits. Morris, Ellis, Boulware, Price, and Pace each collected multiple hits for Panola.
Panola College Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Kellogg C.C In Game Two
Panola College defeated Kellogg Community College 4-3 in a back-and-forth affair on Tuesdays game two of the double header. The game was tied at three with Panola batting in the bottom of the sixth when Christian Boulware homered sending a bomb over the center field wall. Which would end up being the deciding run in the contest.
Panola scored three runs in the fifth inning. Panola scored on a single by Julian Flores plating one run and a two RBI single by John Mike Bounds .
Gannon Reiswig earned the win for Panola. He pitched one inning, surrendering zero runs, zero hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Jared Blisset recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Panola.
Cole Clinton started the game for Panola. He tossed three innings, surrendering one run, four hits, and walking zero.
Colby Price went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Panola in hits. Panola didn't commit a single error in the field. Bounds had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
