Cook Sitting Second in the Region

By scoring an 83-point ride in the saddle bronc in the long round, Logan Cook, came back to the short round to tie for first with an 84-point ride. Ultimately having Cook finish first in the saddle bronc average for the weekend. He had amazing summer representing Panola at the college finals and has kept it up. After this big win he is now sitting second in the region only a few points behind first.

Mckynzie Bush did it again in the barrel racing. She was seventh in the long round to come back to the short. Bush then smoked a run to place her second in the short and third in the barrel racing average. After this rodeo Mckynzie is now sitting fourth in the region.

In the team roping, Clayton lowery and his partner from Hill College, came back to the short in fifth place but had some tough luck in the short round. With the sharp roping in the long round, Lowery won the men's team some points.

In the breakaway, Jayden Gould tied for third in the long round to take her back to the short. Gould roped another fast calf to be fifth. With roping both calves so fast she finished fifth in the breakaway average. After her amazing roping these past two weeks, Jayden is now placing sixth in the region.

Sam Wigans, a freshman from Iowa, rode his bareback horse in the long round to be seventh in the round and make it back to the short. In the short Wigans was successful once again and placed fifth in the round. With both good rides Wigans finished sixth in the average.

A sophomore from Louisiana, Macon Murphy tied his calf in the long go to be fast enough to make it back to the short. In the short go lighting struck, after tying his calf in 8.4 seconds, Murphy was disqualified when his calf kicked free. Murphy, a national's finals qualifier, will be back and ready for Mount Pleasant, October 18th and 19th.
