The Fillies opened up Region XIV play this week on the road in Brenham, TX against a very talented Blinn. Blinn is currently ranked as the #2 team in the nation. They are tough, fast paced, and very skilled offensively. Blinn came out strong in the first quarter putting up 27 pts to the Fillies 17 pts. Even with a 10 pt deficit going into the second quarter, the Fillies were up in spirits and turned up the defensive efforts to hold them to just 12 that quarter. The fillies were able to breathe a bit going into halftime down 6 (33-39). Coming out of halftime the fillies had a few empty possessions to start, however, they were still in it. In the fourth quarter, Blinn just proved to be too much, outsourcing the FIllies 24-7 with the fillies only making 2 fourth quarter field goals. #5-Gionna Carr was the leading scorer for the Fillies with 13 pts. #3- Kayla Webster led the Fillies in assists with 4. 

Saturday's conference contest was against Paris. Both teams came into the match up 0-1 in conference play. Paris is a talented hardworking team led by last years Newcomer of the year #5- Nykesha Sanders. Paris opened the game with two back to back 3's which gave them an early lead. However, the Fillies settled in and it was smooth sailing from there. After the early buckets, the Fillies held Paris to just 12 pts for the quarter and went on to score 22 pts of their own. The Fillies carried the momentum through the second quarter to go into halftime with a 39-22 lead. Both teams came out from the half ready to play. Paris won the third quarter 16-15. Despite losing the third quarter by 1, the Fillies kept on pushing and won the game 66-47. The Fillies were led in scoring by #10- Sharayah Johnson and #11- Avery Young with 14 and 12 respectively. #3- Kayla Webster led the Fillies in assists with 5. 

The Fillies have one more before heading into the Christmas break. They travel to Tishomingo, OK to take on Murray State Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
